best of eugene orchestra with the sisters of soul

9pm :: sat

The Best of Eugene Orchestra began as the musical arm for Eugene Weekly's Best of Eugene Awards show in 2005. BOE Orchestra with Sisters of Soul brings an unbelievable energy of funk and rhythm and blues. The band has since performed at many festivals and events including The Secret House Wine and Blues Festival.

Five incredibly strong, experienced and gifted singers Gaye Lee Russell, Lynda Duffy, Joanne Broh, Laurie Shreve and Vicki Stevens front this all-star band. The BOE Orchestra is directed by Bill Shreve with special guests Paul Biondi, Mike Tracy and JC Rico.

The BOE Orchestra is performing in support of Muscian’s Emergency Medical Assistance [MEMA]. Musicians are among the first to respond when there is a local emergency or cause. They give their time, money and resources freely to help those in dire need in any way they can, no matter what the emergency. MEMA thinks that it is time to give back–to reciprocate, if you will. The brainchild of Paul J Biondi—a Eugene-based professional saxophonist—MEMA was founded by musicians, for local entertainment industry workers and their families, as a non-profit corporation to be a resource when a medical emergency occurs.
